Cal Crutchlow will return to the LCR Honda line‑up for the Silverstone MotoGP weekend (7–9 August), stepping in for Johann Zarco whose knee injury from the Catalan Grand Prix in May still sidelines him. The British veteran’s confirmation means the British round will be the first MotoGP event after the summer break where he will appear.
Zarco’s crash forced the team to call on Crutchlow, who debuted as a substitute at Mugello and has since contested four races – Hungary, Czechia, the Netherlands and Germany. He has yet to break into the points, posting a best finish of 16th at both Balaton Park and Assen, and retiring at Mugello and the Sachsenring. Prior to this stint, Crutchlow last raced in 2023 as Yamaha’s test rider.

Crutchlow’s presence on the Silverstone grid will be the first time a British rider has lined up for the premier‑class home Grand Prix since his own retirement in 2020. He will share the LCR garage with rookie Diogo Moreira, currently 15th in the standings after a season‑high sixth place in Hungary, while Zarco’s recovery remains the team’s focus moving forward.
