Marco Bezzecchi led the opening stages of the 2026 Aragon Grand Prix from pole position, with Marc Marquez close behind after a dominant Sprint victory on Saturday.
Bezzecchi, who topped Warm Up by over 0.4 seconds, held the lead into the first corner while Marquez and Alex Marquez rounded out the front row. Championship leader Jorge Martin, fifth in the Sprint, started fifth after struggling with front grip but expects to close the gap over the longer race distance. Both returning riders Johann Zarco and Fermin Aldeguer finished in the points on Saturday, though Zarco faces a double long-lap penalty for a Catalunya incident.
Temperatures reached 30°C air and 50°C track as the race approached, with riders using the medium-medium tyre combination. Early laps saw Marquez pass Martin at turn 15, while Acosta also moved ahead of the leader, though Bezzecchi retained a narrow margin at the line.
Raul Fernandez reported improved comfort after adjusting his bike’s setup, aiming to rebound from an eighth-place Sprint finish.
