Joan Mir called his 2026 Aragon Grand Prix performance “worrying” after his race time dropped by more than 10 seconds compared to 2025. Completing the 2025 race in 41 minutes 26.133 seconds, Mir finished the 2026 event in 41 minutes 38.968 seconds, placing him 12th. The deficit highlights Honda’s ongoing struggles with rear grip, particularly in braking and corner entry, areas where Mir said the bike felt “worse” than usual.
Honda’s satellite squad LCR delivered the team’s best result at Aragon, with Diogo Moreira finishing ninth. Mir, the leading factory HRC rider, was two seconds behind Moreira but still 10 seconds off his 2025 pace. He emphasized the urgency of identifying the issue, noting that without improvements, his ability to gain an advantage over rivals is severely limited.
Mir has repeatedly urged Honda to introduce more developments to the 2026 bike before the season ends. With the factory team set to leave at year’s end, he stressed the need for solutions to restore confidence and ensure competitive finishes, as inconsistent results have hampered his season.
