Marco Bezzecchi has revealed that severe neck pain was the reason for his hospital transfer following a crash at the Assen MotoGP. The Aprilia rider lost control and was sent cartwheeling through the gravel trap, losing the world championship lead to team-mate Jorge Martin.
Bezzecchi explained that he was attacking for fourth position and came into the corner too fast, losing the front of the bike at almost 200 km/h. He was grateful to have no fractures or injuries and was discharged from the hospital the same evening.

Bezzecchi is now nine points behind Martin heading into the German MotoGP and is focusing on recovery before getting back to work.
