Oliver Bearman cautioned his Haas Formula 1 team that without a faster development programme they could be outpaced by rivals as the sport moves toward the 2026 technical regulations. The warning came after he qualified 14th and finished outside the points at the Austrian Grand Prix.
Bearman's season opened positively, extracting points in the first two rounds in Australia and China by making the most of the Haas VF‑26. However, his form slipped over the next six races, culminating in the Austrian event where he failed to score.
The Briton urged the outfit to increase the pace of upgrades, stressing that the upcoming 2026 rule changes will widen the performance gap between well‑funded teams and those slower to develop. Haas now faces a decision on whether to invest more resources to avoid being out‑developed in the next regulatory era.
