Enea Bastianini is free to complete a transfer to Trackhouse Aprilia for the 2027 MotoGP season after KTM failed to activate its contract option for the Italian rider. The decision follows the two‑year deal he signed with KTM, which included a clause to retain him for next year, a deadline that has now passed.
Bastianini, a seven‑time race winner who previously rode for Ducati and secured a podium with KTM at Catalunya, also earned a third‑place finish in the COTA Sprint this year. The move would see him replace Ai Ogura at Trackhouse, pairing him with fellow rookie Raul Fernandez. The switch would mark Bastianini’s fifth MotoGP team and his third different manufacturer.

The development leaves KTM with a reshuffled roster, as they look to field four new riders in 2027, while teammate Maverick Vinales’ future remains uncertain due to injury concerns. Trackhouse Aprilia’s line‑up will therefore feature two newcomers, potentially reshaping the competitive landscape for the upcoming season.
