Kimi Antonelli admitted that the last two race weekends have been a learning curve, but they have also lit a "big fire" inside him as he heads to Silverstone. A technical failure in Barcelona handed him his first DNF of the season, and a too‑relaxed qualifying run in Austria cost him a front‑row start, leaving him to start fourth for the sprint race.
Despite those setbacks, Antonelli chased Max Verstappen to second place in the Austrian race and kept his championship lead at 40 points after teammate George Russell won. He blamed the Austrian loss on brake trouble and a poor first‑lap stint, and stressed that the experience taught him to stay hungry and maximise every session, no matter the circumstances.

Looking ahead, Antonelli is confident the Mercedes W17 will be competitive at Silverstone, but he expects strong challenges from Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari. He welcomes the sprint format, calling the British Grand Prix one of the season’s best weekends and promising to apply his new lessons to deliver a stronger result.
