Aston Martin recently hosted a Technology Forum to showcase its use of AI in Formula 1. The team has invested heavily in a new technology campus, featuring a state-of-the-art simulator and windtunnel, with AI playing a key role in processing the data they produce.
Team boss Adrian Newey explained that AI is used to spot patterns and correlations in data that humans might miss, helping the team make better decisions about car development.
The team simulates between 10,000 and 100,000 race scenarios before a weekend, capturing 50 billion sensor data points per car, and transfers 1.5TB of data with a 0.2-second delay. AI is crucial in making the right decisions, with 70% of the F1 grid using sleep technology from Eight Sleep to improve their performance.
