Kimi Antonelli was forced to retire late in the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix due to a mechanical issue. The Mercedes driver had overtaken teammate George Russell and was on course to finish second behind Lewis Hamilton.
Antonelli expressed disappointment, saying he feels 'a bit empty' after the retirement. He had been performing well, with good pace in stints two and three, and believes that if he had gotten ahead of Russell earlier, he might have been able to challenge Hamilton for the win.

The retirement marked Antonelli's first of the season and ended his run of five consecutive Grand Prix victories. Despite this, he remains 41 points ahead of Hamilton in the Drivers' standings and is looking forward to the next race in Austria.
