The US Senate voted 50-48 in favor of a war powers resolution to halt US military action against Iran. This vote reflects growing concern among some of Trump's Republicans about the unpopular conflict.
The resolution, which also passed the House of Representatives, is likely to remain largely symbolic but marks a setback for Trump.
The vote comes as the administration is expected to ask Congress to authorize tens of billions of dollars to pay for the war. Trump criticized the vote, calling it 'poorly timed and meaningless' and accused those who voted in favor of providing 'comfort' to Iran.
