The US Department of Defense is open to hosting a permanent military base in Poland, according to Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
This development comes after Kosiniak-Kamysz met with US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in Brussels, where they discussed collective defense and cooperation.
The move is part of Poland's push for a stronger allied presence on NATO's eastern flank following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. While no decision has been made yet, the US has previously hosted troops in Poland on a rotational basis.
