The US Navy is seeking a family of carrier-based drones that can perform multiple missions.
The drones are expected to be capable of strikes against surface ships, land targets, and enemy aircraft, as well as electronic warfare, ISR, and aerial refueling.
The Navy has set a response deadline of August 13 for the Request for Information, which is part of the Air Wing of the Future Family of Systems. The new drones are intended to be part of a future air wing composed of fifth- and sixth-generation manned and unmanned aircraft, with a focus on affordable and expendable platforms.
