The US Army has established a new unit, the 7th Infantry Division Multi-Domain Command – Pacific, to integrate drone warfare with the maneuver capabilities of Stryker brigades. The unit's commander, Maj. Gen. Bernard J. Harrington, plans to use a large number of drones to saturate and overwhelm potential adversaries.
The new unit will combine the 7th Infantry Division and the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force to achieve this goal. Harrington also wants to use decoy drones to confuse and deceive adversaries, as well as electronic warfare drones to isolate and enable other drones.

The US Army is still figuring out the details of its drone warfare strategy, but the establishment of this new unit indicates a clear recognition of the need to change how it operates to succeed in a Pacific fight.
