The USS Nimitz has completed its Southern Seas tour and arrived at Naval Station Mayport in Florida. Meanwhile, the USS George Washington made a show of force in the Pacific by participating in exercise Valiant Shield 2026.
The US has lifted its naval blockade of Iranian ports, but the fate of the blockade forces remains unclear. Two aircraft carriers, USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush, continue to operate in the region to support freedom of navigation.
Other carriers are also on the move, with USS Dwight D. Eisenhower departing Norfolk for carrier qualifications and USS Theodore Roosevelt conducting exercises off the west coast. USS George Washington was pictured alongside other US and Japanese ships during Valiant Shield 2026, demonstrating multi-domain combat readiness.
