The Ukrainian Air Force's Mirage 2000 fleet, supplied by France, may have expanded its combat role to include air-to-ground strike missions. A newly emerged video shows a Mirage 2000-5F flying low over Ukraine, followed by a steep climb, hinting at a ground-attack mission.
The footage is consistent with toss bombing attacks, a technique used to mitigate risks from ground-based air defenses. The Ukrainian Air Force has been using French-supplied AASM-250 Hammer guided bombs, which can be delivered using this method.

The expansion of the Mirage's combat role would provide Ukraine with another capable strike platform, in addition to its MiG-29 and Su-25 fleets. The Ukrainian Air Force has praised the Magic 2 infrared-guided air-to-air missile, which is the primary air-to-air armament of the Mirage, citing its high kill probability.
