Ukraine is pushing for long-term strategic planning, focusing on eliminating threats from neighboring Belarus. According to Mykola Golomsha, any state has the right to defend its citizens from armed attack under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
This right extends to targeting military equipment used to coordinate missile strikes against Ukrainian cities, regardless of the border. Golomsha argues that a country allowing its territory to be used for such strikes forfeits its right to consider those facilities untouchable.
The Ukrainian leadership has sworn to protect its people, and Golomsha's message is clear: neutralize the threat or Ukraine will take action itself.
