Navy officials announced Friday that Capt. Mathew Loe has been relieved of command of the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Lemoore, citing a loss of confidence in his ability to lead. Loe, who assumed the post in July 2025, was reassigned to Naval Medical Forces Pacific while the command’s executive officer, Capt. Robin Bennett, stepped in as interim commander.
Rear Adm. Kevin Brown, head of Naval Medical Forces Pacific, made the decision and stressed that the change will not affect the unit’s operational readiness. The Lemoore command, based at Naval Air Station Lemoore in central California, trains medical personnel for Navy and Marine Corps units and operates the Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, which serves more than 30,000 active‑duty members, veterans and families. Loe’s résumé includes nursing degrees, a 2008 Afghanistan deployment, and multiple prior medical leadership roles, along with several commendations.
