The Boeing 757 testbed, nicknamed 'Catfish', has been spotted carrying a new underwing infrared sensor pod for the F-22 Raptor. This pod is part of the 'Raptor 2.0' upgrade package.
Catfish has been used for decades to support the F-22 program, and its unique modifications make it an ideal testbed for the Raptor's systems. The aircraft's ability to carry stores under its fuselage could open up new possibilities for testing.

The infrared sensor pod is designed to detect and track targets via their infrared emissions, making it valuable for spotting stealthy targets. The Air Force plans to integrate this system into the F-22 as part of the Raptor 2.0 upgrade.
