The U.S. Army has identified Sgt. Devin A. Seibel, 26, as the soldier who died in a training accident at Erbil Air Base, Iraq on May 31. Seibel, a native of Robinson, Texas, was assigned to the Air Ambulance Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade out of Fort Carson, Colorado.
He was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve at the time of the incident, which occurred during a training exercise with British Army partners. A British soldier, Lance Corporal James Freeman, 29, was also killed in the incident.

The incident is currently under investigation. Seibel's death is a reminder of the risks involved in military training and the importance of ensuring the safety of troops during exercises.
