President Donald Trump allowed a bipartisan housing bill to become law without his signature, citing a lack of progress on a strict voter ID bill. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act limits corporate investors from purchasing additional properties and increases access to small-dollar mortgages for lower-income buyers.
The law is considered the most comprehensive housing reform in at least 30 years and aims to lower the cost of housing and spur more home construction.

Trump's decision not to sign the bill has been criticized by Democrats, who argue that his priorities are misplaced. The bill has drawn support from the real estate industry and housing advocates, and is seen as a step towards addressing America's housing affordability problems.
