Uber's plans to expand into seven new European markets in 2026 have hit a roadblock. The company has put launches in Austria, Norway, and Greece on hold. Recent successful launches in Finland and Denmark have led Uber to focus on existing markets.
The pause may also be related to Uber's ongoing efforts to acquire Delivery Hero, a European company that rejected a 10 billion euro takeover bid in May.

An industry source suggests that halting expansion could alleviate antitrust concerns surrounding the potential acquisition, as Delivery Hero operates in several target countries.
