Sheetz, a US convenience store chain, is moving its 838 locations off VMware. The company has used VMware virtualization across two Dell servers at each location since 2019.
Sheetz is migrating 12 to 14 virtual machines in each store from VMware vSphere to StorMagic’s SvHCI. The migration also includes replacing two VMs to transition from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
The company has finished migrating over 600 stores, averaging 200 per month, and expects to complete the migration in four months. Sheetz will move about 11,000 VMs from Broadcom's virtualization platform to StorMagic.
