Google’s 4K streaming box, the Google TV Streamer, now costs $149, a $50 increase from its original $99 launch price. The price change is live at the Google Store and Best Buy, though Amazon still lists the older $99 price. The move follows similar hikes from Apple and Amazon, which have raised prices on streaming devices and other electronics amid ongoing component shortages.
The Google TV Streamer, released in 2024, doubles as a smart home hub, integrating streaming and home automation in one device. Its price adjustment arrives weeks after Google introduced its Pixel 11 lineup with a $100 increase over the Pixel 10 series.
Component shortages have driven up costs across consumer tech, including laptops and game consoles. Amazon recently raised the Fire TV Stick 4K Max by over 40% to $84.99, while Apple’s TV 4K now starts at $199 for the 64GB model.
