Deezer has introduced an AI music detector that scans playlists on other streaming services for AI-generated music. The company was the first to label AI-generated music and had offered its technology to other platforms, but with no takers, it's now bringing the tool directly to users.
The detector is compatible with 20 streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. Users can visit Deezer's website, choose their streaming service, and grant permission for Deezer to access their playlists.
Deezer will then scan the playlists for AI content and alert users to any detected tracks, giving them the option to share the results. This move comes after other companies, like Qobuz, developed their own detection technology, while Apple and Spotify opted for voluntary tagging systems.
