Apple has unveiled Siri AI, its biggest AI launch to date, which embeds new automated capabilities into its software. The update is fueled by a partnership with Google Gemini and aims to provide helpful and intuitive products for users.
According to Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of software engineering, the company's mission is to turn advanced technology into helpful products, rather than pursuing AI for its own sake.
The new Siri can surface information from users' inboxes and text history, offer helpful suggestions, and provide context about what users are looking at. It can also pull near-instantaneous information from the web and deliver it to users' devices.
