Apple unveiled a refreshed Mac Mini lineup powered by the new M6 chip, promising four times faster AI performance and doubled storage and graphics speeds compared to the M4 model. The base configuration includes 256GB of storage, 16GB of RAM, and a 12-core CPU and GPU, priced at $899. Pre-orders are open now, but devices won’t ship until September 22 alongside macOS 27 and Siri AI.
A higher-end variant pairs the M5 Pro chip with 512GB of storage and 24GB of RAM, starting at $1,699. This model can be upgraded to a 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU, and both variants feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port with optional 10Gb upgrade. The Mac Mini’s popularity among tech enthusiasts has surged due to its ability to run local AI agents like OpenClaw and Hermes.
Apple also introduced new Mac Studio models with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, priced from $2,499 and $5,499 respectively, expanding its AI-focused hardware lineup.
