Ferrari’s Dutch Grand Prix strategy came under fire from Lewis Hamilton after the seven-time champion was held up by teammate Charles Leclerc on fresher tyres. Hamilton, who finished fifth, questioned the team’s decisions over team radio, calling the delay a "great waste of time" and asking if he was being used as a "guinea pig."
Team Principal Frederic Vasseur defended the approach, saying Ferrari intentionally withheld Hamilton’s race plan to avoid tipping off rival teams. He confirmed Leclerc was meant to pit earlier but an extra lap was added, creating confusion. Vasseur added that tyre compound choices were unclear due to marginal differences between medium and soft tyres, forcing the team to adapt mid-race.

Hamilton ultimately made a late pit stop under a Virtual Safety Car but couldn’t recover positions lost to race winner Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli. Vasseur dismissed concerns, stating both drivers now have a clear picture of the race’s strategy challenges.
