Tsolov drives F1 car for first time in Racing Bulls test

Formula 2 championship leader Nikola Tsolov has driven a Formula 1 car for the first time, completing a test session with Racing Bulls at Imola in Italy.

Tsolov covered 690km during the Testing of Previous Cars programme, marking a key milestone in his progression with the Red Bull Junior Programme. After the session, he called the experience life-changing and thanked Racing Bulls and Red Bull for the opportunity. Team principal Alan Permane praised Tsolov’s quick adaptation to the F1 car and highlighted the importance of such outings in driver development.

The test follows speculation linking Tsolov to Racing Bulls’ 2027 F1 line-up, though Permane noted the team is focused on current tasks. Tsolov currently leads the F2 standings by 20 points and will return to championship action at Monza next weekend.
