Tech3 boss Guenther Steiner has left the door open for a return to Moto2, signaling the team’s ambition to field entries in all three Grand Prix classes. The French squad previously competed in Moto2 from 2010 to 2018 with its own chassis before shifting focus to Moto3 and MotoGP after 2019. Steiner acknowledged the current setup—Moto3 and MotoGP without Moto2—as “odd,” but stressed the team is monitoring opportunities.
Steiner’s comments came as Tech3 prepares for a major overhaul in MotoGP, with plans to sign Moto2 standout Senna Agius and Honda’s Luca Marini for 2027. The team’s Moto3 squad, which has delivered podiums this season with Valentin Perrone, may also see changes next year as both Perrone and teammate Rico Salmela depart.
Tech3’s Moto2 history includes a championship win in 2010, but Steiner’s latest remarks suggest the team is open to reviving the project if conditions align. The move would align with Steiner’s goal of building a “complete ladder” across all classes.
