Lance Stroll, now 27, marked almost ten years in Formula 1 by discussing how his game has evolved and why the 2026 season is a test for both him and Aston Martin. The Canadian driver spoke to the team’s official site about growth, setbacks and future hopes.
Stroll entered the grid in 2017 with Williams at 18, becoming the sport’s second‑youngest starter after Max Verstappen, and earned a podium and a front‑row start in his rookie year. He switched to Racing Point in 2019, claimed his first pole in 2020 and added two more podiums before the outfit became Aston Martin’s works team in 2021. He says the years have taught him new driving tactics, car‑setup tricks, how to read changing conditions and the importance of confidence, mental resilience and physical preparation.

The 2026 regulation reset and a new Honda power unit have left Aston Martin struggling, prompting Stroll to stress staying grounded and trusting the process when results lag. He points to the talent at the AMR Technology Campus and tools such as the CoreWeave AIR Tunnel simulator as signs the team can unlock its potential. Despite the current difficulties, Stroll remains convinced the project can evolve into a race‑winning and title‑contending outfit, and he intends to ride the tough spell out with the squad.
