Fabio Quartararo told reporters that securing a top‑eight result will be his personal benchmark for staying motivated during the remainder of the 2026 Yamaha campaign, as he gears up for a planned switch to Honda next year.
At the German Grand Prix he climbed from sixth on the grid to finish seventh, a result he preferred to a potential 15th place and plans to use as a reference point for the rest of the season. While acknowledging Yamaha’s ongoing lack of pace, Quartararo admitted he sometimes reins in his effort to avoid injury, yet insists on pushing his limits now to gather the experience he’ll need with a new team.

Looking ahead to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, he cautioned that little can be carried over from his recent strong showing because the bike setup remains essentially the same as earlier races. Quartararo expects a challenging debut with Honda and hopes the lessons he extracts this year will smooth the transition.
