Pirelli has disclosed the tyre compounds that will be used at the 2026 British Grand Prix in Silverstone, selecting the hardest options in its range – C1 as the hard tyre, C2 as medium and C3 as soft – to cope with the circuit’s high degradation demands.
Because the weekend runs a Sprint format, the total allocation drops to 12 sets per driver: two hard (white‑marked), four medium (yellow) and six soft (red). Teams also retain access to the green‑marked intermediate tyre and the blue full‑wet tyre should rain intervene.

Silverstone’s 18‑corner layout generates extreme lateral forces, with some sections exceeding 5 g and a pronounced left‑front tyre wear due to the predominance of right‑hand turns. The surface is relatively low‑abrasion but offers good grip, leading Pirelli to anticipate a one‑stop race strategy focused on the more durable C2 and the grippier C3. Unpredictable British weather could still bring rain, prompting teams to keep the intermediate and full‑wet options ready.
