Alex Palou led the second practice session of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C., clocking the fastest lap on Firestone’s quickest tire compound.
Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood nearly matched Palou’s time, though Kirkwood’s lap came on the harder primary compound. The session highlighted the competitive edge of Firestone’s softer tire options.
The results set the stage for qualifying and race strategies, with teams now analyzing tire performance ahead of the weekend’s main events.
