Ott Tanak’s role as a development driver for Toyota will expand to a competitive appearance at the Rally di Roma Capitale, the next round of the European Rally Championship. The 2019 world champion will take the wheel of a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 during the event scheduled for next week.
Tanak will be paired with his long‑time co‑driver Martin Jarveoja. Together they will pilot the GR Yaris Rally2 in the capacity of the rally’s ‘zero car’, a vehicle that runs ahead of the main ERC field to set the pace and provide reference times.
Toyota’s decision to field the GR Yaris Rally2 in this role underscores the manufacturer’s active involvement in the ERC round and gives Tanak a platform to showcase the car’s performance ahead of the competitive field.
