Valentino Rossi’s intuitive feedback made him a standout for Ohlins, according to racing manager Jonas Torstensson. Rossi’s ability to translate how a bike felt into precise engineering requests set him apart during his career and beyond. Marc Marquez’s adaptability was equally notable; despite setup flaws or new parts he disliked, he still delivered fast lap times by pushing harder. Pecco Bagnaia, meanwhile, was praised for his sensitivity to bike adjustments, requiring precise setups to unlock his speed.
Torstensson described Marquez and Bagnaia as "both very sensitive, but in different ways." Bagnaia’s feedback during testing proved critical for fine-tuning components, while Marquez’s blunt assessments sometimes masked his ability to mask flaws with sheer pace. The contrast highlighted how top riders shape suspension development differently, even when using the same supplier.

Ohlins’ rear shock played a key role in Suzuki’s 2020 title with Joan Mir, Torstensson noted. The team rapidly adapted the new suspension early in development, though Mir’s riding and the overall bike package were the ultimate factors. Ohlins now supplies all MotoGP manufacturers except KTM, which uses its in-house WP brand.
