Denny Hamlin has become the new NASCAR Cup Series championship leader after 18 of 36 races. This change came about due to a power steering failure for Tyler Reddick, who finished last, and Hamlin's own struggles with splitter damage after a late-race spin, finishing 26th.
Despite Reddick securing the fastest lap bonus, Hamlin's result was enough to overtake the previous leader.
The championship standings have shifted significantly, setting the stage for an intense continuation of the season.
