NASCAR released a rules bulletin directing all Cup Series teams to eliminate the foam padding on both the front and rear bumpers for a series of short‑track events.
The directive applies to the North Wilkesboro race on July 19, Richmond on August 15, Bristol on September 19, and Martinsville on November 1.
While the bulletin does not explain the reasoning, teams are expected to comply for the duration of each weekend, and the change will be enforced by officials during those races.
