NASCAR confirmed San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado will host a race in 2027, continuing its military-base event series. The track will use a temporary street circuit built on base infrastructure, following the format of past events at bases like Homestead-Miami and Indianapolis.
The series will also explore additional military locations for 2028 and beyond, though no specific sites were named. NASCAR’s move aligns with its push to reach new audiences and reinforce ties with the armed forces through motorsport.
Next year’s event will mark the first time NASCAR races in San Diego, adding to a growing roster of non-traditional venues.
