A lightning strike near EchoPark Speedway halted the NASCAR Cup Atlanta race. The incident occurred about halfway through Stage 2, prompting NASCAR to red flag the race and bring the 38-car field down pit road.
The race had been incident-free up to that point, with all cars still running after 100 laps.
For the event to be considered official, it must reach Lap 131, the halfway point of the race.
