McLaren has decided not to use its new front wing concept at the Monaco Grand Prix, citing the need for further refinement.
The team tested an updated version of the wing during practice, but ultimately chose to revert to its baseline version. Team principal Andrea Stella stated that the design needs more work and that further testing is planned.
Stella emphasized the importance of getting the front wing to work properly, as it will be the basis for several future developments. He also noted that the team never expected to be a frontrunner in Monaco due to the circuit's characteristics, but is focused on improving the car's aerodynamics and interaction with tires.
