McLaren has celebrated its 1000th Formula 1 World Championship race with a special gathering of current and former drivers in Monaco. The team, founded by Bruce McLaren, reached this milestone on the 60th anniversary of its debut.
Current stars Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri joined past World Champions Emerson Fittipaldi, Mika Hakkinen, and Lewis Hamilton, among others, for a unique photo opportunity.
The event was a sign of a new spirit of co-operation between teams, with Hamilton and Fernando Alonso attending despite being part of other teams. McLaren team boss Zak Brown appreciated their support, saying it was 'awesome' to see them show up.
