Marc Marquez has confirmed ongoing limitations with his right arm after describing a lack of control during the Silverstone MotoGP. Speaking ahead of the Aragon race, the Ducati rider admitted he overestimated his recovery from seven shoulder surgeries, including one in May.
He plans to reduce Friday workloads to preserve energy for Saturday and Sunday, after his Silverstone performance left him seventh and 40 points behind championship leader Jorge Martin. Marquez cited the circuit’s fast corners as a particular challenge, though he remains confident in his bike’s potential at Aragon, where he has won seven times.
The reigning champion also acknowledged Aprilia’s improved pace this season, with all four riders performing strongly at Silverstone. He stressed the need to maximize his own performance, noting that even at full effort in Britain, he managed only fourth and fifth in practice. Marquez added that his riding style favors left-hand corners, which could benefit him at Aragon’s mix of turns.
Ai Ogura, currently six points ahead of Marquez in the standings, will miss Aragon due to a hand injury, reducing one rival’s presence.
