Italian rider Luca Marini will leave Honda to race for Red Bull KTM Tech3 in the 2027 MotoGP season. The 29-year-old moves from Honda HRC after three seasons, including two as a factory rider, citing consistent performance and strong communication as key factors in his development.
Marini’s departure from Honda was confirmed earlier this year when the team announced its 2024 lineup, leaving space for his switch. Tech3’s CEO Guenther Steiner highlighted Marini’s experience and adaptability as critical for the team’s rebuild, noting the 2027 season marks a fresh start for MotoGP.

His new teammate remains unconfirmed, though Moto2 rider Senna Agius is expected to join Tech3, replacing Maverick Viñales. Steiner emphasized Marini’s ability to collaborate with engineers and push the bike forward in tough conditions, while team manager Nicolas Goyon called his signing a valuable addition for KTM’s future.
