Liam Lawson says he felt more comfortable in Red Bull’s RB22 during the Dutch Grand Prix than he did during his initial stint with the team. The New Zealand driver, who replaced Daniel Ricciardo at the Dutch GP, noted the difference in handling and setup compared to the 2025 car he previously drove for the Austrian outfit.
Lawson admitted it’s difficult to directly compare the RB22 with the earlier Formula 1 car, but emphasized the improved confidence he felt behind the wheel. His comments come after a weekend where he navigated the car’s characteristics under race conditions, marking his return to the senior Red Bull team.
The performance gap between Lawson’s first outing and the Dutch GP suggests the RB22 may better suit his driving style, though he stopped short of declaring a definitive preference.
