Kyle Larson's No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet and the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet of Daniel Dye failed NASCAR inspection twice.
Both teams eventually passed on the third attempt, but as a result of the initial failures, they lost their pit stall selection.
The penalty may impact their performance in the upcoming NASCAR Cup race at Pocono.
