Australian Jack Doohan, who raced for Alpine at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the first six rounds of 2025, signed with Haas in February as one of the team’s reserve drivers. He says the Haas garage welcomed him and that he feels at home after his first test in Bahrain, where he arrived as a brand‑new face.
As a reserve driver Doohan’s job goes beyond waiting for a call‑up. He runs simulator sessions, reviews onboard footage, and provides feedback to engineers and drivers. He also attends team meetings, sponsors’ events and acts as an extra set of eyes during race weekends, helping regular drivers Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon with set‑up and strategy insights.

Doohan will split his time with fellow reserve Ryo Hirakawa, covering the races that Hirakawa misses due to his World Endurance Championship program. He expects to be on the paddock for ten or eleven Grand Prix events, while also competing in the European Le Mans Series. The dual programme gives him valuable exposure and keeps Haas’ driver line‑up well supported.
