Ford’s new Hypercar prototype completed its first major on-track session at Circuit Paul Ricard, launching an intensive development program ahead of next year’s FIA WEC debut. The car’s test run at the French circuit marks the start of a multi-continent campaign that will continue for several months before homologation.
Engineers focused on early reliability checks and performance tuning during the shakedown, gathering data to refine aerodynamics and powertrain ahead of homologation. The program will stretch across three continents, with further sessions planned at circuits yet to be confirmed.
The car is set to race in the FIA WEC’s top class next year, positioning Ford to compete in the premier endurance category after a multi-year absence.
