The FIA World Endurance Championship will run nine rounds next season, its first nine-race schedule in a decade, after the 2027 calendar was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
The season opens in late March with a Prologue test at Lusail International Circuit, followed by the Qatar 1812km—a 1,812-kilometer race running from daylight into darkness. European action resumes with the 6 Hours of Imola, then Silverstone returns for the first time since 2019. The TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans complete the first half of the season.
The second half includes four flyaway rounds: the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo, the Lone Star Le Mans in Austin, the 6 Hours of Fuji, and the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, where the champions will be crowned in early November.
Series leaders cited record attendance, 14 manufacturers on the grid, and the addition of Ford and McLaren as reasons for the expansion, with Silverstone’s return highlighted as a key milestone for endurance racing’s global appeal.
