Formula 3 championship leader Freddie Slater has praised the new Madrid circuit as “incredible” to drive following the junior series’ inaugural test at the venue. The track replaces Barcelona for the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix under a 10-year Formula 1 agreement.
The Spanish Grand Prix will debut at the Madrid circuit on September 11–13, 2026, coinciding with Formula 3’s season finale. Slater’s feedback follows the F3 test, which provided the first public assessment of the track’s layout and characteristics.
Madrid’s selection ends Barcelona’s long-standing role as host, marking a significant shift in Spain’s Grand Prix calendar.
