F1 Academy will expand its 2026 Rookie Test with a new training camp at Loughborough University, marking the programme’s second edition. Seven drivers who took part in last year’s inaugural test have since earned full-time seats on the 2026 grid, while two more have made wildcard appearances this season.
The 18 selected drivers will attend the three-day camp from August 25–27, featuring physiological profiling, cognitive testing, and workshops on strength, resilience, and elite sport behaviours. The camp is designed to accelerate both on- and off-track development through science-backed athlete support.
The programme concludes with the on-track Rookie Test at Navarra from September 9–11, where drivers will observe team operations, media briefings, and take part in media assessments before driving F1 Academy cars. F1 Academy’s Performance & Talent Development Manager Katie Denver called the initiative a step toward deeper talent development and understanding of female athlete progression.
